First in a series of photos and stories behind them..
This is a pond behind my house on the neighbors property. Walking the dogs with lovely wife and Canon 5D with 70-200mm f2.8l lens. (I obtained the lens by trading a czech mandolin with a press photographer friend on mine).
The pond has been home to bass, pickerel, turtles, newts, snakes dragonfies and a few beaver over the years..
It was part of a system that provided water to a Christmas tree farm run by the Cooper family in the 60’s and 70’s. There is still a remnant of a greenhouse on the property. All the former Christmas tree candidates are majestic now and won’t fit in any house so they’re committed to the outdoors forever..
A little piece of the western Catskills…..
